I’m excited to announce that journalist, author and my friend Mark Bittman will be at Habitat on September 28, 2010 for a tasting dinner in honor of his soon-to-be released book – The Food Matters Cookbook: 500 Revolutionary Recipes for Better Living.
Mark writes a weekly column for the New York Times (The Minimalist). He is a regular on NBC’s The Today Show and is host of the Public Television series Bittman Takes on America’s Chefs, which aired in spring 2005. In 2008 Mark appeared with Gwyneth Paltrow and Mario Batali in the PBS series Spain…on the Road Again.
And if that isn’t enough to entice you, Mark and I will be cooking dishes inspired by The Food Matters Cookbook and discussing our cooking philosophies and exactly what “better living” means to us. Here’s a sampling of what we’ll be making:
- Two-Pea Soup with Frizzled Ham and Organic Mint
- Whole Wheat Carrot Gnocchi with Sage Butter and Dry Aged Ricotta
- Pennsylvania Golden Trout with Pan Fried Celery Root and Mustard Seed
- Elysian Fields Lamb Chop with Eggplant Puree and Fava Beans
The tasting dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. It is prixe fixed ($150 per person) and includes a signed cookbook, wine pairing, tax and gratuity and parking. Space is limited.
For reservations, call Habitat at 412.773.8848.
